Fighting for Custody

As many may know Jayden, our former foster daughter, has been living with us for over a month. She is doing very well and is actually turning 13 years old tomorrow. Maggie loves having her around they are quit cute together. Her father is helping support her by giving us child support each week but now we need to make things legal. From my understanding it can cost around $1000 dollars for the process. So, pray for us as we begin to take the steps needed to provide her with a safe permanent home with us.

VBS

Well, Vacation Bible School was a hit and we had a load of fun. I was in charge of the lesson and the music slot. One of my girlfriends from the worship team dressed as a cow and led the music with a whole line of cowgirl and boys. Our theme was Avalanche Ranch (western in the city. Can you imagine). Many kids came to the Lord that week, one night I watched as Heidi, another dear friend, gave the alter call and some kids were crying. I have a theory that these kids feel safe at the church and they allow themselves to feel and be real. I think they know that we will hold them, pray for them and just let them cry. I don't know what is happening in their worlds but I believe "God" is happening in their hearts.

I had the church van pick up kids on my street that I had invited to VBS and by the end of the week two little girls said, "I wish we could live with you." It tares my heart out. We also took our next door neighbors grand kids. A little boy about 8 and girl about 6. The little girl looks so hurt when you look in her eyes. Well, Marc had been to the church to fix the sound system this past Sat. and when he got home he noticed the boys father cursing at him violently. The man took a step toward the child as if about to hit him. Marc yelled at the guy to pick on someone his own size. Needless to say he proceeded to turn his anger toward Marc. There was nothing but words exchanged but at least the boy knew that Marc had his back and was safe for that moment. Please pray for these kids, their mom is temporarily in prison and both parents need the Lord.

Susie's Day Care

Not really day care, but a play date for Maggie and her friends. Our next door neighbors are from Nigeria and next to them is a lady and . her two daughters from Kenya. The two boys are 2 year old twin, Steven and Thomas and the girls are 3yrs and 18 months, Persilla and Pauline. The girls now go to church with us on Sundays with their mother Hilda. Please pray for this dear woman she has just escaped out of a difficult situation and is trying to get on her feet. Her girls hardly even have toys and she works very hard to provide their needs. It's amazing how much we take for granite.

After our trip down the river we relaxed and ate with Jack and Bev and Pastor Jimmy and Deb. Maggie liked Bev's flowers.

Many of you may remember Jayden. Well, pray for us because it looks like we will be fighting for custody soon. She has been with us for a month and we hope to keep her with us and safe.

My sweet nieces

We had the pleasure this summer of having our niece shirly come and stay with us for two week, one of which was evangelism wk. She worked very hard and the other day I was down Rail Road St (a little ally we have adopted) inviting the kids to VBS and one of the little girls looked up and asked me if "that girl" was going to be there. I thought that was so sweet although I had to inform her that Shirly lives in Ohio and wouldn't be able to make it.

Life is ever changing

Recently we were made aware that Jayden, our former fostor daughter, may be needing a home. She said she wants to come home to us, so pray for wisdom for us as we try to get custody. She is an amazing kid with Gods call on her life.

Gearing up to VBS

Today is the 18th and VBS is on the 30th. We have sooo much to do not only to prepare for VBS but also to prepare to nurture the little lives post VBS. Please pray for us that God would send in the laboror to not only win the lost but also disciple them.

Evangelism 2007

Evangelism week was crazy!!! My neice Shirly Ann came and spent 2 weeks with us so that she could share in the excitment. For starters - Evangelism week by definition is one whole week mon - Sat. that we hit the streets over 100 stronge. We walk and meet and pray with people on the streets and give the food, waters, and various donated items. We also give them fliers for the Wed. Fri., Sat. events to take place in the parking lot at the church. We had the ministry truck from Valley Forge come up and we had a wed service outside with 100's of kids and just at we prayed with them for savation a massive storm baptised them in rain. Ha Ha. Then Friday night was the Hip Hop Night. These kids can dance!! Then Saturday night we baptised those who wanted to in a tank in the parking lot. We also fed all these people hot dogs. Also, during the day we set up a slip and slide and played game and in the fire hidrant with the neighborhood kids. It was sooo much fun, but exhausting. There were 137 names of people we either got to lead to the Lord or pray with. We all love this week it's or favorite. Now we are gearing up for VBS. Thank you Lord for the souls that were won to you and the relationships that were built.
